Need a little help with locating IAT sensor in cougar 99 4 cyl 5 spd

Can someone tell me where can i find the Air Intake Temperature sensor in a '99 Cougar 4 cyl, 5spd? Thanks so much!

Id say its probably tapped into the airbox. Ill look at my Contour manual tonight and see exactly where its located.

I have a 2002 cougar, and mine was located on the pipe connected to the throttle body on the rear back side.

(about issues for the '99) do you really want me to answer that??? *grins* actually, there were six recalls that year for the '99 cougar. I don't remember exactly what they all were (seatbelts were one I do know of), you can find out exactly what they were at your local Mercury Dealership...

and what chip are you talking about? I think we are thinking of two different sensors...lol, lord knows theres atleast 50 of them on the cougar engines.

I`m talking about vtrspeed +22hp chip inserted in the air intake.For me it looks fine and runs much better ... but I don`t know about it in a long run.Re

what? your not talking about one of those 2 cent resistor mods you can buy on ebay are you?

they are crap that only take your money, the best chip for the Zetec is SCT/Superchips and about $250-300
