VIN numbers

I was about to buy a -89 Dodge 250 But some things made me a bit suspicious. I know where the VIN nuber is located on top of the dashboard but where else on tha car can you find the number? I know manufacturers put it on at least one more place, usually in the rear somewhere.

Most vehicles there is a metal plate on the driver's side doorpost, on the latch side. On others it's in the engine compartment; frequently on the left side near the top edge, sometimes on the firewall or elsewhere.
