Starter Wiring 90 RS

Does anyone remember or have a diagram for starter and distribution block?? Do have power to starter pos. none on single purple wire.. Replaced starter,new cables and checked power on both sides of all 3 fuseible links at starter all ok..... Afraid it maybe VATS

the purple wire on your starter goes to the gear selector switch, and either the clutch start switch (m/t) or nuetral safety switch (a/t)..

a simple test for the vats system is to test the resistor pellet on your key with an ohm meter.. keep that number in mind..

Find the small vats connector at the base of the steering column.. (two small white wires with an orange jacket) Unplug the connector, put the key in the ignition, and check for continuity between the two terminals on the connector.. You should get the same value as you did when you tested the key..
