Purchasing Cougar....have questions

I am thinking about financing a 99-01 V6 Cougar, not sure which one yet though. For those of you who own Cougars, are they reliable cars? I have heard many bad reviews about Cougars, and that they are very bad reliability-wise. I guess I'm kind of in denial because I've loved Cougars and have always wanted one, and now that I can afford one I'm wanting to make sure it is the right choice. Thanks for any input!

My wife has a 99 2.5 5 speed. She loves it. There is no doubt the alternators are a known problem, and the moon roofs, also. Check out fastcougars.com Doug

I drive a 2002, but I've owned a 99 and an '01, I wouldn't recommend getting a '99, only because it was the first year design of the new edge cougar, and the designers still had to work some bugs out of it (i.e. moon roof, alternator, etc...) I' say the newer the model, the better.

Re: Purchasing Cougar....have questions

My girlfriend and I have an 01. Car is mint, no problems and runs great. Just to expance on the link above that DXJ posted, it's www.fastcougar.com or www.customcougars.com for aftermarket support.
