Unhappy Starting Problems

When I go to start the car I turn the key and I get no reaction from the vehicle. Nothing happens. No dash lights not activating the fuel pump....nothing. The battery is in tip top shape. Could it be the ignition switch? Can that cause the vehicle to get NO power? None of the positions seem to work. No acc or start. PLease help if possible.

Does anyone know of any way to trouble shoot the switch before replacing it???

Thanks

Lights work by themselves. The horn I am not too sure right now because I have the steering column apart and disconnected. I know that the radio does not come on any of the key positions.

When I say the lights work I am talking about the headlights. None of the dash lights including the warning light work. Usually when I turn the key the fuel guage activates and tells me how much fuel is in the tank. I get nothing from the dash.

Re: Starting Problems

sounds like a loose bulkhead connector. Check your connections going from your firewall and see if they're tight & in place.

Thank you all for the anticipated help. I figured out the problem I had checked all the relays concerning starting and then realized that all my fusible links were also located in the same box in the engine compartment. On first look it did not appear that any were blown then after using a flashlight and looking very closly I realized the ing. one was blown. The space was so small that you would almost think that current should be able to jump the gap.

Thank you all for looking out.
