Tints.

Tonite I was driving my brother to a basketball game and at a red light a cop flashed his lights to see my tint. Now I got this car in July and never really thought anything of the tints. He pulls me over takes out a device to measure how much light goes threw the window, it comes out with 14% so my tints are 86%. He wrote me up a $90 dollar ticket and now I have to remove the old tints. I never figured my first ticket in my stang would be for tints. Go figure; don't cops have more serious issues to worry about, like if they want frosted or sprinkles on their donut.
What's the best way to remove the old tints?
Thx.

I would check with a local window tinting place to find the scoop on your local laws on window tint. 14% is a wee bit dark. I know here in South Carolina the legal limit is like 27% (remember the higher the number the lighter the tint.) Most cops will let you slide with 25%, but not with any less. As for getting the old stuff off, a razor blade and windex will work wonders. just remember to re-armor all your door panels, as windex has a tendency to take all your shine outta the panel. or you could check at a auto store, they normally sell some kinda tint remover kit. Good luck!
