HELP Me! Deciding on Dual Flows

OK! I have searched far and wide.. Im trying to figure out what exhaust I wanna use on my 2000 Silverado 4x4 5.3

Flowmaster only makes 3 different cat backs for my truck

Dual 70 Series

Dual 30 Series with resonator

and a Dual Side Exit Super 40 Series..

As far as sound I love the Audio clips for the super 40.. But Im so stuck on doing rear exit Duals.!

Whats the options here.. btw. Love the sound of the 40 Series Also..

I want super Deep, Loud, Built Sound..

WIll have K&N Cold Air, and Nelson PCM. for now.

Whats the best way to go here.. I can also buy a dual rear exit system off ebay with 40 Series but its Crush Bent..

Please any info, suggestions, Knowledge would all be appreciated

pretty much any good exhaust shop will have flowmaster for your truck in stock and will exit it how ever you want, though you may call around to find if it is crush or mandel bent. You'll probable spend about 250 to 350 for them to do it.

Re: HELP Me! Deciding on Dual Flows

Not if you are in Canada, Winnipeg to be more exact. It cost me $600 to install a dual system on my 2000 silverado with the 4.8. I got them to cut the exhaust right at the "y" pipe were it was still 2 and continue it the rest of the way out the rear. It took them about 6 hrs to do. btw i ended up with flowmaster mufflers after the cut off and removed the dynomax. They thought the dynomax were maybe to restrictive cause i had power loss initially once the system was installed. I have had dynomax mufflers before on my 88 full size Jimmy and on my 96 sierra and liked the sound, but by far the flowmaster is a better sound than the dynomax in my opinion.

Re: HELP Me! Deciding on Dual Flows

go for the origional 40 seris for a much deeper more powerful sound. also id you want it to be louder get the kit with the dual side exit, i have a custom setup like that, it will be much louder than a rear-exit cuz everytime you go by a car building or anyting it will deflect off of that. i personally would prefer the side exit also just because everybody and thier brother have dual rear exit setups.

I just put an origional 40 series on my 2002 5.3L.....sounds extemely loud, deep, and powerful.......I welded it all up myslef, and just threw on some turn downs on it (single in dual out). Turn downs make it louder and more stealth (also easy for a doit your self type deal)..........sounds sweet

good luck

(the shops all wanted $400.00 to doit in michigan)

Re: HELP Me! Deciding on Dual Flows

If you lived here in south Georgia, you can get a single 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlet 40 Flowmaster, split rear exit 2.5" pipe and two 3.5" chrome tips for $250. A "true" dual system was only $350, but I didn't have the extra money.
