Re: Never...

yeah there's really no point when you'll get more power out of $3000 invested in turbo than $3000 invested in a supercharger.. and newbs will hear about turbo 240s before supercharged ones, but there are some out there.. i was screwing around on cardomain.com and found one..

Re: Never...

umm I had a thread about this ALONG time ago its been brought up not much latly

no kits out there and unlike a turbo just slapping together a kit for a blower isn't as easy.

Good luck and PLZ PLZ keep us in the loop with this project

Re: Never...

You could rig something up with a centrifugal. They can have BOV too I beleive. I think they're efficiency is close to that of a turbo.

yup a centrifugal type of super chargers like the ones found in the vortech, or pro charger style kits uses a blow off valve. however the blower it self doesn't sound very good. its just a bunch of weird whirlling noise.

however if you go with a roots type super charger like the ones found in jackson racing kits, or the eaton blowers, those don't use blow off valves, they they make a mean ass whine when your running boost, with near instant boost response.

the centrilfugal type has some lag very much like a turbo.

Re: Never...

Seems like too much customizing for a roots type. All that work with the inefficiency of a roots type blower.

Re: Never...

CLIFF NOTES:

"I want to be different so Im gonna move to a less efficent system. Oh and I need to be able to hear a blow-off valve so I cant use a Roots which interestingly enough is the only system that would even have a chance at having a low end advantage. I guess that leaves me with a 70% efficent, peaky centerfugial that I'll use for drag racing. who cares if Turbos are better I'll be different and still be able to hear my BOV."

This = Gayest Thread Evar.

For the record... the Miata Roots do have BOVs
