how to program Alpine alarm for new remote?

Does anyone know how to program an Alpine alarm for a new remote?
The directions on how to do this were apparently for the wrong model of alarm. It said there would be dip switches inside the alarm and the remote that you need to match up, But my remote and my alarm do not have dip switches. In there place bolth of them have little round (dont know what there called) but there round and have an indent for a screwdriver to adjust the frequencies. So how would I get them to match up, and how do I set it into the alarm. I believe the model number is 8027A but not possitive. Any help would be great.
