Question DC Sports Short Shift Adapter Kit

I was wondering if anybody has tried it, what they think about it, etc. I'm thinking about getting one to go along with my new clutch and flywheel.

Re: DC Sports Short Shift Adapter Kit

I don't have a DC Sport one, but I do have a Neuspeed one in my 4th gen. I'd assume they're basically the same thing, and I don't have any complaints about mine.

Should have gotten the Lean Racing True short shifter when they were in stock. http://www.leanracing.com/index.htm I managed to get mine and am very happy with the results. Shorter throw, shorter height, and made with OEM components. You could wait for him to produce more or just go with the adapter.

Stay away from adapter types.

Re: DC Sports Short Shift Adapter Kit

the DC isn't bad, but there are better options. if you can locate a slightly used B&M short shifter, go for it. they no longer make them but i've always heard good remarks on it. i had the DC on mine. while the throws were shorter, albeit not by that much, it made the gearbox feel notchier, not as smooth. plus the adaptor itself would hit the center console everytime i went into 5th. didn't cause any problems, but that's just bad design. i'd recommend the DC as a last resort.

Re: DC Sports Short Shift Adapter Kit

for the 5th gen, go with the true short shifter. Like I said, i have no problem with my adapter, except del is right, it does hit the center console a little, but I think mine wore through where it was hitting because it's much smoother now. Probably just takes some getting used to. Go with the true one if you can get it, but I think that an adapter is better then nothing at all.
