Re: jeep wont start

replace the CrankShaft Position Sensor.

you will also notice when trying to start that the CHECK ENGINE light doesn't come on - this is a sign of the CPS going bad.

Like ask on other post does the check light come on when you turn key on? When you say you can't get it to disarm. Do you mean the alarm system. dale [email protected]

Re: jeep wont start

It's the CPS. Just had one in the shop the other week with the same symptoms. Swapped it out and all was fine.

Re: jeep wont start

I'd have to say ECM. Mine's being replaced as we speak. They thought it was the crank shaft position sensor, but it ended up not being that. I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee. Just all of a sudden wouldn't start when I came out of the gas station the other day.

Re: jeep wont start

what engine?

4.0L - it is on the driverside of the transmission bellhousing.

5.2L - it is on the Passengerside of the engine block, behind the right exhaust manifold. - Easier to get to is you remove the exhaust heat shield and exhaust manifold on the passengerside.
