Torque Settings?

My brother in law is working on a 89 Buick Century with a 3.3l v6. He needs the torque setting for the intake manifold, we tried the local library and auto parts stores, but oddly they don't have the chilton's or haynes books for buick's that year and the dealer won't give out the information. He's replacing the head gasket, and say's he just needs the torque settings for the intake manifold, is there other settings I should get for him?

I just happen to have the Chilton's book for that model. It says the torque is 89 inch-pounds (divide by 12 for foot pounds). But that seems awfully light to me. There's also a tightening sequence that needs to be observed. Without a picture, you start on the center bolts and work alternately side-to-side towards both ends of the engine. Be sure to use a new gasket set too. It would be a shame to spend all that time and find you have a leak.

Well I guess I asked for nothing, now the friend he was doing it for doesn't want to pay to have the head planed. So thanks for the info, I really apreciate your help, I just wish we could have put it to good use.

PS, I hope the guy doesn't drive the car away. All I saw when it pulled up was a cloud of smoke moving down the road. I only saw the car after about 10 secs of it sitting there parked. :P
