Need some help/opinions for my s13

I need some of you guys opinions since Im not so experienced on these matters-

I have a stock '90 s13, good engine, with 3 15 in wheels, and a 14 INCH steelie on one rear wheel, due to me replacing the shock/control arms a few days ago.

Now my question is, with the way my car is set up (with my 14 in steelie), will my car be safe to drive on a 7 hour long road trip? I know this may sound dumb, but I really don't have anyone else to turn to to ask, so please give me your opinions, thanks

I'm not sure about the steelie on the front, but if it's on the back, I've read that you can ruin your differential by wearing it out. If you have one. I'd say don't drive it.

Re: Need some help/opinions for my s13

i'm not sure what you mean by steelie.. but i wouldn't drive it very much at all if i were you.. on the back, its a different diameter as the 15 inch so your diff will get fucked cause one side will want to rotate more than the other.. on the front? one side of the car will be lower than the other.. you never know, something could happen..

besides, what happened to the original wheel you had on before you worked on it?

du u have LSD (aftermarket) if not then its ok to drive fo a 50 mile or so but not 700!!!!. don't go fast dough. (40 mph max!) the reserve tire is ok but not great....

BTW, why not get one from the junk yard? i mean get a maxima one dude.... 7 hr drive thats long distance AND u will drive slower with the reserve tire, so ur looking at 10 hr drive dude....

Your best bet would be to put it up front. You will be working the hell out of the spider gears in the rear end. If you do go on this trip, be extremely careful because your braking will be severely affected along with cornering. What happened to your other tire? If anything, get that one patched. Good luck.

When he says steelie, he means just a plain black rim with no hubcap. Like when it used to be the popular Honda thing to put two small steelies up front and two nice rims in the back.

Re: Need some help/opinions for my s13

ok, well then it depends on his tire size.. but either way DON'T HAVE IT ON THE BACK.. if the sidewall is big enought to make up for the smaller rim size then having it on the front isn't a big deal.. but for the love of god get another 240sx rim

Re: Need some help/opinions for my s13

y would you put 2 small ass crappy tires on the front of your honda if its FWD....wouldnt you want good tires up front because ummm well thats where all there damn power and handling goes??? sorry for off topic just doesnt make sense. I understand why drifters(mostly beginners) put sucky wheels and tires on back...so they dont fuck there good rims up.

lol..
Yeah, I went to the junkyard today and found a wheel, so I'm good again- My original wheel got all bent up when I lost control of my car recently. I was just curious, because the temporary replacement wheel was only an inch smaller and size, and I was using that to get back & forth to work- I was curious about how much long term damage it would do to my car

But I got the rim so things are cool as usual- thanks for the help guys, you pees are great, and have aided my dumbass more times than I can remember

Re: Need some help/opinions for my s13

i'd definitely put the steelie's in the front.. (if it's a rwd). although steering will be awkward so it would be safer to keep it in the back and drive slower... my 2 cents..

I'm pretty sure the S13 and indeed all 240sx models are RWD.

WHOA!! i have that pic as the background on my comp.lol. I think he means like you should always put the steelie in front if its RWD, but if you ever have a FWD car in this situation then put it in the opisite i hope he knows that all NISSAN 240SX's are RWD!!!
