1998 Jeep Starting Problem
When I Try To Start My Jeep After It Has Set For A Day
Or Two, It Grinds Very Slow At First, Like The Battery Is Dead, But Then It Continues To Crank And Finall It Starts, But The Engine Dies Immeaditley....have To Hold The Gas Down To Keep It Running. After It Starts And I Drive It, It Does Fine. Also, When I Do Get It Started, I Smell Gas, And It Has A Sort Of Miss Like Maybe Flooding. |

Re: 1998 Jeep Starting Problem
Sounds very similar to what I've been experiencing lately, except for the gas smell!
I just took the original battery out of my '98 today & replaced it with an Optima (RedTop). Now when I start my Jeep, it starts & sounds as if it was "new," & sitting on a dealership lot! If your battery is not somewhat new, I would start there. |
