1987 Cherokee Fuel Rail
Evidently Jeep no longer has replacement fuel rails. I need a new one and don't know what to do. Anyboby have the same problem and how was it fixed? The junkyards are picked clean, too.

I am acutally posting for friend of mine. He said ther appears to be a crack or hole in part of the rail. He was getting leaking fuel and replaced the injectors and o rings and this did not solve the problem.

Re: 1987 Cherokee Fuel Rail
A few other options. One is to weld or braze over the crack and seal it. Of course, you'd have to remove the rail to do this.
If the hole or crack is in the "open", like between the injector ports, you may be able to use a small hose clamp and piece of fuel hose. Cut the hose along it's length so you can slip it over the rail and use the clamp to secure it. This should not be used as a permanent fix, but one that will get him by until he locates a new rail. |

Thanks for the assistance. My co worker brought the rail today to take a look at. My father in law welds so that may be the answer. He'll have to take a look.
