what head unit to get?

I want to get a new head unit for my 300zx. I want to stay in the price range of 200-300 dolllars. I have been looking at Pioneer, JVC, and Alpine units. I was just wondering if you guys had any opinions on which ones are the best for this price range. Are there any other brands that I should consider, which of the brands listed has the best units. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: what head unit to get?

Alpine and Eclipse are usually considered the best.

the 9831 is great, but if you're not going to use the amp control features then there is no point in buying it over the 9830

the 9831 and the 9830 are basically the same unit

except the 9831 has the alpine amp control ability, and it had a different looking display

i would strongly recommend the alpine cda-9830
and the pioneer 760/7600
