Problems with my starter

My 94 Altima has a bad starter. Manual transmission. I,ve been looking for an inexpensive replacement but all I can find are starters for auto transmission. My dads friend who is a mechanic told him you can rebuild an auto starter to fit a manual car. Is this true? If so how can you do that?

you might be able too...take your starter to a 'starter and alternator' rebuilder and tell them what you need.

Just check out the price at your local Nissan Dealership, so you know how much not to spend. Check the autoshops for other prices, so your problem is that you cant find one, or you want a cheap one ?
