2000 Astro Excessive Wind Noise

I have a 2000 Astro that when moving at more than 65 MPH the wind noise can be heard very loudly through the door seals. I know when traveling at just about any speed you can hear wind noise coming through the seals when turning the vehicle because of chassis flex, but this is on straight away driving, and it you cannot hear the wind as loud from the passenger door seals.

Is this a common problem?

Does any one have a solution?

It gets so loud it drowns out the radio and is very annoying.

Thanks.

95 astro with real poor fit and finish, 1/4" gap for about 6" on passenger door. You could see daylight and could not go through a carwash. That van was totaled and replaced by another 95 with great F&F, quiet ride with no rear end whine.

Wind noise thru seals

Try this one, Put your window down, open the door and put a 2x4 in the jamb just about the level of the bottom of the window opening, Close the door until it hits the 2x4 then push lightly on the top frame area of your door (more towards the rear corner of the door) , this will bend the top of the window frame area slightly which should increase the pressure in this area when the door is closed therby reducing the noise from the wind. I had the same problem in my 94 astro and this did the trick for me. Hope it helps
