overheated my engine

Coming back from WalMart, driving thru this very lonely and dark road, everything seems OK, I'm doing about 55MPH, AC on and coasting. Then, all of the sudden the Water Temp Dummy Light comes on, I roll my eyes over the Temp Gauge and I see it's almost to the red.
I quickly start thinking...broken Belt, or the Tensioner maybe? But the AC is still on and cooling! hmmm.
I turn the AC off and leave the car in Neutral at 55MPH, the temp goes down a little while trying to clear the dark road ahead. The temp starts going up again fast, over the red line, over the H, past the H and still going, wow that was scary.
I finally see some light and quickly stop and turn the engine off, this all took about 10 mins from when the water temp light came on! Funny thing is, theres no steam, smell, hissing or bubbling in the engine bay. I let the engine cool a while and drove home since I stopped about a block away.
After the engine cooled I pop the hood added water to the radiator, started the engine and saw that the Water Pump Pulley was not turning, quickly shut off the engine and go in for a closer inspection. Then I see that the Motor Mount by the Water Pump broke and separated, My guess is that this caused the engine to shift and banged up the Water Pump Pulley and seizing it causing the water to leak out. Now I need a new Water Pump, New Motor Mounts and hope that the overheating didn't cause any internal damage to the engine. This car has 148k on it, do you think is worth it to do the repairs. I don't want to spend any more money on it and find out two months from now that the heads are warped or that I blew a head gasket. Is there any way of telling? The engine started and ran normally that little time I turned it on after I made it home...

It should be ok if it hasnt had overheating problems before. My fan decided to quit working for abouta month during the summer and it overheated 7 or 8 times before I finally figured out what the problem was. I think killed my transmission (too much heat is bad for auto tranny's), but the engine still runs fine. Im not saying that your transmission is gonna go out becuase it overheated. But I think it may have had an effect on mine, which was already on its way down the tubes.
Anyways, back on topic, Motor mounts for my car were right at 100 bucks for all 4. (right front, right rear, trans., & torque strut.) Water pump is like 35 bucks and takes all of 35 minutes to install. The motor mounts will take forever unless you've doen them before.

UPDATE:
I replaced the Water Pump and also the Front Left, Tranny and Dog Bone Mounts in my car. So far everything is working great and the temp stays put, thank God, I was afraid I had toasted the engine! Actually now the Radiator Fan comes on earlier than before, now it comes on right after it crosses the half way point, before it used to climb all the way to three quarters of the way before it came on.

One little problem... the Air Filter Box needs to be replaced along with the Air Duct! Do any one have one available? I would love to get a CAI, but I'm very, very low on cash after all the repairs. The grommet for the Valve Cover Vent broke so the engine is sucking all kinds of junk thru that whole on the Duct. I need help guys...

You can probably find one pretty easy and cheap in a JY.
