Lightbulb Opportunity to part out 96 Aurora

Newby on the block, first time poster. I have a 95' Aurora (stuck in second gear) and have the opportunity to buy a 96' with head gasket problem. I am wondering if there would be enough of a demand for good used parts from the 96' that would recover my $1,000.00 purchase price. I appreciate earlier threads on tranny problems, and think I may try the solenoid fix myself to cure the 95's problem. But, from the sounds of it, owning an Aurora sounds expensive and having a donor car might be a good idea. So, how about it? Anyone still need parts? I will check back daily and if there seems to be interest I will own the 96' by weeks end. Posted 12/6.

I might be able to use a rear left door window motor, mine doesn't seem to work and all the wiring seems good. Say maybe $30 or so. What do you think?

Re: Opportunity to part out 96 Aurora

Have not bought it yet, was hoping for more interest. It has a bad motor, so I don't think it is going any where soon. I just bought the selenoid kit for my 95' and will know Saturday if I want to buy it for the Trans. I probably won't turn down any offers on parts- so what ever you all want to pay is fine (plus shipping). How about anyone else?

Thumbs up

Good news! the transmission fix was easy and cost $160.00 which included the solenoid kit, screens, and gasket. The car runs great! Bad news: did not buy the 96' cause I don't need the tranny (good news for me). Sorry to all that wanted parts. The car is in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am not sure if it is still for sale, but if someone has a $1,000.00 and is close, send me a message and I will find out.
