Thinking bout getting into rc cars

Well, i kinda wana get into rc cars because it seems to be very fun. I read the drifing faq and i am wondering how fast can a tlo1 stock go? Also, what exactly is the difference betweent he ready to ride kits and the other one(except for theyr completed). Any other suggestions on what cars would be good? or any suggestions or tims in general?

Re: Thinking bout getting into rc cars

TL stock? mabe about 10-15, add a new motor about 21 turn, and some Steel ball berings, and an ESC. Then it should be around the 30 MPH mark. TT-01, TC3, are also good cars to start out with.

RTR- Everythings comes with the kit, (Radio, Batt, etc..)

A Box kit just includes the chassis, a MSC (tamyia tt01's some tls') & a 540 motor.

Thanx for your reply. So which would you get? Would it be cheapter or buy the kit and the stuff seperatly or the rtr. Also, how fast would a tt01 be? Could you maybe compare the two....im thinking the tt01 wud be better since its newer..rite?

Which would I get? I own a TT-01, its my 1st. Its pretty fast box stock, beat a few hoped up xmods. TL I havent droven one before, Im fairly new to Rc's myself.
If you want to build it yourself, and want to repair stuff yourself and also learn how Rc's work, then I'd buy it none RTR. But if your on a tight budget get the RTR. I think the TT-01 and the TL are the same speed. (both come with the 540 sliver can) They bother are great cars, Alot of aftermarket parts for both chassis. The TL has a little more hop-ups than the TT because the TT is newer.

Re: Thinking bout getting into rc cars

The one on Tower looks like a pretty good deal. Check with your LHS to see what radios they have compatible with that ESC, and reciever.

Just an FYI, Top end isnt the need for Drifting, you want to have a nice Good bit of torque, and acceleration. Then to balance it out with some top end you can change some gear ratios. But the Stock motors are just what you want to start out drifting with.

You'll need
*A battery pack Average $$10-50
*Battery Charger Average $$40-50
*Radio Average $$40 buks
The kit is 92 buks

I'd say about $180 - $200 buks when you buy all the stuff

The RTR TT01 is $150

Re: Thinking bout getting into rc cars

The RTR's come with the radio and electronics. Usually a normal 2 Channel pistol grip radio will work, and just make sure the crystals are the same.

I think i will go with rtr. So rtr is EXACTLY the same chassis as the kits but all assembled rite?

And would i need to buy anything else along with the rtr?

Re: Thinking bout getting into rc cars

You will need batteries.

EDIT: Normal Alkaline's for the radio.

I went to my lhs yesterday and i saw they have a tamiya tl01 mustang cobra kit for around 180 bux. This is a bit too expensive right?

What do you think i should get? tt01 or tl01?

And does this car seem to be what im looking for?
