Spedometer stuck at 30mph

My spedometer is stuck at 30mph when i had my tranny worked on I had the guy check the cable and he said it was fine. Do you guys suggest buying a new spedometer? I'm not to savy in this area of work

Re: Spedometer stuck at 30mph

before the tranny was worked on, the spedometer was off and on sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't, sometimes you would have to give it a good smack... now that I think about it maybe the connections was loose and now it's just disconnected.

Re: Spedometer stuck at 30mph

I my second car I had was a 90 iroc with the 350ci L98 any way. I had the same prob but the spedometer would not work at all. So I got a new cluster for like $300 bucks. ouch. I would check the connection first. But I bet money on the cluster.
