Blower won't work on "high"

94 S-10 Blazer, 4.3, W

Recently, I've lost my "High" setting on the heater/AC blower.

It works on low and medium, but nothing else.

I've taken the 4-position switch apart, cleaned the contacts, and checked continuity - all good.

I've looked at the resistor block and all seems well. I haven't put a meter on it, but all 3 coils are intact and look good.

Service mgr at the dealer says it's the switch ( $8 ) but I've cleaned & checked mine.

I don't mind spending 8 bucks to get heat, but should I have to?

Any other ideas?

well....it seems you checked alot.....
i had mine only work on med and high.......
replaced the switch....and works fine now....

All the lower speeds are reduced by the resistor. High is straight voltage. Check all your fuses, it may be listed as something else heat or a/c releated. You can use a test light to check output from your switch and to the resistor.

The high is controlled by an accessory relay located on the side of the heater box.
