and for the intake pipe. i need help.since its an auto(13g)....will this-------------- http://www.dsmparts.com/customer/pro...&cat=72&page=1 ----------fit my car b/c it says fits stock but i dont know if that means "stock" manual(14b) or what? Is the intake size the same on the 13g and 14b?

thanks

Re: need your opinion/knowledge

same exact mbc for $20 shipped...and this guy is reliable

http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=244561

as far as the intake tube...why are you getting it, personally I think it's a waste of $120...do you have an open-element conical filter already, or are you putting this in with the stock airbox...if so DON'T...
just get a CAI off ebay for $30.

Re: need your opinion/knowledge

CAI = cold air intake, view the thread cold air intake vs. short ram

My point was that getting that intake pipe will give you 0 performance gains...none whatsoever...the only reason to buy it is if you want some chrome under your hood.

Buy an entire intake w/ K&N filter and you will get a few hp for your money.

Re: need your opinion/knowledge

That 56 dollar MBC looks as cheap as one I could make for $4 from Home Depot. Get a JoeP for that price range.

As for intake pipes, go measure the intake on your turbo. If it's the same as a 14b, the pipe will work. Or you could email dejontool, I personally don't know the diameter of the intake on a 13g. Intake pipe is a plenty good mod, too.

Nobody makes CAI's for turbo DSMs. Anyone with one is using ABS/PVC pipe, and they drill through their engine bay down to the fender.

UHM they dont make CAI,s for turbo DSMs. and i thought the same thing about it not making much difference. Until i made a $20 one from Ace hardware that i work at. THAT LITTLE 1ft section of pipe makes a lot of difference.

Oh yea and I would go with the JoeP MBC, very reliable and nice guy to do buisness with.

i appreciate everyone who helped...ill find more about the intake before i decide to buy
....as for the MBC...the only thing about Joe P mbc is that it says for "low boost"..and in a yr or so after i do mods..i plan on getting one of the 16g's and then i plan to run higher boost..like 18-20 range and i want to have a mbc that will work for that and the Turbo Logic one that i originally posted on my 1st thread at the top says it can handle up to 30psi(if the engine can of course) and that is more then enough that i iwll need down the road

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK..thanks for all the help so far

You should be fine with mbc it porbably will handle more than you can put into it....as for running 20 psi on a small 16g may be maxing out the turbo...well i wouldnt know because i dont have one yet ....but from what ive read it can only handle 16-19 max....

Re: need your opinion/knowledge

im running 16psi on a JoeP MBC and a 16g but with the right tunning and a FMIC the 16g and the JoeP MBC can handle like 25psi.

My mistake, I forgot it was turbo, in between posts. Thanks for the correction.
