Re: Fastest Insurance Sensitive Car

If you look up at the top of this forum...there is an FAQ, that is titled "What car to buy"
I suggest you read it...and in the future, read applicable FAQs, as they are there for a reason.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: Fastest Insurance Sensitive Car

Also, what do you want it for? Go fast in a straight line or do you actually care about handling?

So you woudn't mind a car that'd blow up 100feet from the car lot where you bought it from?

seeing ur a moderator id expect you to know whats in that faq.. and what a wealth of non-topical information that is.. that would take hours of searching, indirect posting, and uneccesary jumping through hoops to in the end come up with my own inference.. i apologize if my not wanting to become and expert on cars engines racing etc in order to answer a simple question annoys you.

excuse me for not being specific i guess i thought it obvious when it was not.. but this will be for street racing though i probably wont ever race it so handling is important to what ever extent u deem worthy for a street racing car.

im gonna admit to being very ignorant of how insurance works but i do believe i remember hearing the honda civic had the highest insurance rate of a certain catergory of cars.. wouldnt that be contradictory to ur suggestion? and to add to that arent they costly to improve performance

The Pontiac Grand Prix would probably be on the list, maybe even the GTP. As long as the car (pertaining to any) doesn't have two doors, insurance seems to be sensitive about that.

I do know what is in the FAQ...that is why I told you to read it. I'm not annoyed by the fact that you aren't interested in becoming an expert on car engines...I'm annoyed that every week some newbie posts the same question. It is like me asking you what I want for dessert.
You don't know if I like chocolate, fruit, cake or ice cream, if I'm diabetic...it's all relative to my personal tastes and needs.

Half the people here will tell you to go foreign, half will say domestics. Half will say go all motor/naturally aspired, while half will say go with Forced induction. Some will say get nitrious, others a turbo, and others a supercharger. Some will recommend a car that can shoot down a straight line like a rocket, but can't turn above 10mph, others will recommend a car that car fly through the curves, but can't go over 105mph...

Everyone has thier opinions...hence I said read the FAQ, so you would know that we need to know your tastes, your requirements, etc. Such a broad question is worthless, and so would be any subsequent answers.
Look at the answers you have gotten so far, a 4door Chevy vs an economybox Honda civic. A 4 cylinder engine vs. an 8.
Everyone is simply going to recommend the car they own or want...not what suits you, because we have no idea what suits you.

On top of that, insurance is relative as well. It depends on your age, region, driving record, and about 10 other factors.
So my advice to you is this: Go to a dealership...test drive some different cars, see what you like and what you don't like. Then call your insurance provider, or go to geiko or progressive's websites and get an estimated quote for these different cars. Find what suits you best...then if you have a better idea or have narrowed it down to a few options, then ask us a more specific question and we will be able to provide you with some meaningful answers.

Had you read the FAQ, you would have read everything that I just typed.
