Re: Radio Locked

What year do you have? If you have a 2001.5 or newer, the Theftlock code is your vin, but you don't have to punch anything in...the car and the radio do everything for you. As for the other radios, those are the ones with like the 4 digit code. Are you following the unlock procedures correctly? They are outlined in the owners manual and I know you can't just enter the number...after you do that you still need to push a combination of buttons. I would take the car to the dealer and show them that the number they provided doesn't work.

How can you tell if you have a 2001.5...?

I have a 2001--I guess I thought they were all 2001.0 models.....

My radio is also locked after having the battery changed. Another post on here gives a procedure for unlocking the radio, which I haven't tried yet---

Re: Radio Locked

I don't think they really designated them as 2001.5's, but mid year they made slight changes such as the radio as well as the cupholder design that is in the center console. If you go on to

What was the rest of your sentence? I also have a 2001...I would be interested to know the differences as well.

Thanks

Re: Radio Locked

Sorry abou that. Anyway, I was saying that the radio design changed mid year as well as the cupholder in the center console. They also offered the 2.2L engine at the very end of the 2001 model year. An exterior change they made were the wheels that came on the GL's and GLS's. Unfortunatly (or what I find to be unfortuante) they must have had some extra parts for the 04 model year left over because they went back to those wheels on most of the 04's...personally, I like the ones on the 02's and 03's but I'm partial to 2002's.
