Gas Smell from 2001 SES

I have a 2001 SES, DOC24v engine with about 48,000. Lately, I get a strong gas smell from the heater vents (this is New England) when I'm idling at a light or something. Did a search here, but did not turn up anything. Thought I read something about a known issue with a leaking manifold gasket causing gasoline oders?

Any thoughts - suggestions?

Pop the hood and follow your nose...

Evap canister is a good place to start.
