Exhaust
I dont think this is that technical of a question but i need help. Im about to a cheap on put a custom exhaust on my 1990 CRX Si. I've been looking at different name brand exhaust specs and the Greddy Exhaust i want has the pipe 2.36" in diameter. I know people that have gotten custom exhausts and their pip is 2 1/4". So my question is should i get a 2 1/2" pipe or 2 1/4? Which would have more performance and better quality sound. And for the record i dont favor custom exhaust at all. I just need to get mine off ASAP.

i'm a little lost here with this vague question.first you say you want a custom exhaust and/or looking for one but cannot decide on the diameter, and then you say you dont favor custom exhausts.
my definition of a custom exhaust is every thing that is non standard, not stock. be more precise. |

Re: Exhaust
best performance for a D-series would be absolutely no bigger than 2.25" (2 1/4") unless u r running a turbo/supercharger, then step up to 2.5" (2 1/2")
as for good sound quality, make sure u get a good resonator and muffler. both straight thru and not loovered pipes. that's the set up i have on my rex and it isn't that pissed off weed-wacker, pack'o bumble bees, rice rocket sound. good mellow tone at idle and cruising, gets a little louder under hard accel, but not that harsh crap. |
