O.k. Fuel pump was running for a couple of seconds When turning the ignition on. No fuel pressure at all. Only had 14 pounds of pressure when cranking motor. Replaced fuel pump and inline filter. Exact same symptoms. No pressure. Checked and had power going to wire harness outside fuel tank. Checked and made sure there was no line obstructions. Could the wire connectors going from outside the fuel tank to the inside to the pump be bad and not giving it enough juice.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

It is possible that the new pump is bad.

Tried it. Nothing. I even disconnected the fuel line by the tank, & i'm getting a stream of gas but not alot of pressure. Just like the original pump.

Re: 97 silverado

Check to see if the fuel pump is wired right. I know you have to remove it again but it might also be a bad pump.

O.K Finally got it running. The finely trained experts at my local AutoZone sold me the wrong fuel pump. They sold me a pump for a Mexico. Which only puts out 12-16 psi. Really stinks because that was the first thing I replaced, ended up spending alot of time and money looking in other directions.

Thanks AutoZone

Thanks for everyones help.
