Dome Light problem GC 98

My entry light (dome lights) OFF only when I remove the key and shut all the doors for at least 5 mins. Other than that it on all the time, even when I drive for couple hours

. I don't know whether or not the remote control has to do with it because when I bought this car the remote was missing.
