Question eleanor's wires

Hi, newbie here.
I've searched the forum looking for an answer for this question, but nothing appeared.
So... All i wanna know is what are those wires for . I mean the wires in the front, going form the upper side of the hood to somewere bellow it.

you mean the wires for the hood pins? if so...thats to hold the hood on

Are they only to keep it closed? Is that really needed? may the hood pop up while the run? i think that could be a design error... but the wires look just cool

they're called hood pins and they hold the hood on. there is no latch. to open the hood you simply remove the clips and lift it. the wires are to keep the clips from getting lost.
