Does a Forced Air Intake Mod. decrease gas mileage???

I just bought my 96 5.9 V8 GCL from a friend of mine. He added a AEM Forced Air Intake System which, I think, is supposed to add more power. Could this also result in poor gas mileage? I am barely getting 14mpg city and highway. Any help would be appreciated!

Forced air shouldnt cut your gas mpg. My 96 5.2 gets about 14 average. On highway around 17-18.

That's the "norm" for gas mileage. It sucks, but I tell myself to either live with it or sell the Jeep. I am still living with it! I also have K&N intake and haven't noticed a difference in gas consumption, but I do feel and hear a difference in power.

I have a K&N FIPK myself and I didnt noticed and decrease in gas millage. The K&N one is slick and is very easy to install (took me about 30 minutes, five of which was locating a nut I dropped)
