Help me with a stereo for parents (see: no subs)

My friend's parents have a old old Volvo and their speaker are blowing up one by one. They want an inexpensive CD playing HU that can power four 4-inch speakers (yes....4 inches...funny shit). I told them I would check with my collegues on PH.

What do you guys suggest for the best budget CD HU with power matched up to four 4-inch speakers.? They don't want anything serious just not complete shit.

how much is a inexpensive cd player? you tell me how much you wanna spend.. i would say being that its ur parents you want something that isn't flashy like a nakmich HU... they are some convervative ones out there

Inexpensive but I don't want it to break or skip. Flashy is bad yes...want easy to use controls.

Nakamichi isn't flashy at all, just way too pricey. I should know, I have one and it looks almost stock. Don't need high quality pre-amp outputs or anything.

4 inches or not..it doesn't matter how big the speakers are. what matter is how much power they can handle. Jensen HU's are good. not too flashy and not too boring. they will power the speakers just fine. also you can look into the lower end pioneer. the DEH-1400 seems nice.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm looking for a not-so-flashy, easy-to-use decent quality HU, and some power matched 4 inch speakers.

yeah low end pioneer comes with that crazy OEL display.

it depends on the inerior too, what color is it?

if its all black u want a black HU .. ya know to keep it matched so they like it
