Replacement Carb for a 1983 2.8
I've got a 1983 S-10 with the 2.8 with Varijet carb. This carb has been rebuilt once, and, now needs it again. Is there another carb that will adapt to this engine that's more reliable??

Re: Replacement Carb for a 1983 2.8
I might be wrong, but I would imagine that it's the same carb as my 85. I've never heard about any reliablility problems with this setup.
If you want more power, with a 4 barrel you can get a non EGR intake manifold from Edelbrock, model # 3789 (I believe) then bolt on a Holley 390cfm carb model # 4160 |

Oh I forgot to mention the stock chevy carb is a little weird, and I've never seen or heard of any stock style replacement.

Re: Replacement Carb for a 1983 2.8
i just rebuilt my carb a few days ago and its not that hard and it runs alot better. i would rather spend the $20 to rebuild it than the $300 for a new carb
