IMO...look at the long run and not the short term...save money that way and puts things in a better perspective

Re: Newbie that just got herself a 240sx

Intake and exhaust first. Then headers.

The first thing you can do is go over basic matinence. Oil change(pref. synthetic), spark plugs(NGK), clean AIV, clean the MAFS, change the air filter(you could use a K&N drop-in), and run some Sea Foam. Go to www.240sx.org They have a pretty good list of things to do.

I believe if you start working on the 240 and looking into what can be done with any engine in the 240, you'll start to like it a little more. Believe me, its not a shit-on import. Good luck.

BTW, car chicks are the best!

ya you probably shouldn't spend to much money on this car if you want to change it later on down the road

but if you do want to change a few things in the car then intake/headers/exhuast are most likly the only things you should spend for

1st Intake
2nd Exhuast
3rd Headers

u know what.... don't tuch it..drive it nice (do maintns)...then get ur doge thing and sell me the 240!

why u want to mod it if ur going to sell it? u will luz money that way.

I bet that after a year in a 240 u will forget about selling it!

Re: Newbie that just got herself a 240sx

I wouldn't call mods a waste of money. I don't regret getting my header even though I turboed. I wouldn't regret modding the 240 if someone handed me the keys to a Z06 right now. It was fun and its nice to be able to say you modded your car! Nobody can take your expirience from you.

Choice A. Lightly mod your car then trade it in for an overweight barn-door on wheels.

Choice B. keep the 240 - spend the 400$ or so a month payments that would have gone to your new car on Engine / Suspension mods and have a car that could run circles around any truck.

Every girl I have ever ridden with in a Truck sucked it up big time " ugh cars are so low I cant see them... it makes my meandering pointless lane changes harder"

CLIFF NOTES: keep the 240 cuz Trucks R Ghey

240......or a tuck? apple or orange? wtf notting in comon.... anyways mods a pointless when selling the car! THEY ARE! u will not the the money back! the experience thing, i don't know, if u like trucks thne a 240 will not be much of a experience.

anyways i stay with what i asid befor, most liklly u will keep it! i mean comon it nimble where many cars are not!

Re: Newbie that just got herself a 240sx

I didn't know AEM made a cold air intake. Hmmmm

The short rams look pretty nice. Injen has some pretty nice ones. I think $300 is a little too much for a cold air intake. Just do a custom one and save yourself $200.

The dual exhaust cam setup is a cheap mod. Replace the intake cam you have with an exhuast cam. I've heard its worth about 15hp. Get a 300zx TT fuel filter and a Walbro 255. I don't know about anyone else, but when I put my Walbro in while the car was still NA, it definately gave some gains. The car felt a lot different. If you have access to a timing light, advance the timing a few degrees. If you do that, only run premium fuel or you will have knock. Good luck.
