Talking A few minor encounters...

Ok, I know I'm supposed to go easy on the clutch. And I have... we were real gentle on it. No hard shifts... No Launches... mostly roll ons under low boost.

Lastnight was our monthly Car meet at the resturant we hang out at. Lots of cool people came out to hang out. Fun times were had by all. We raffled off some donated "On The Scene: Drift Battle" DVDs from LiveSockets aka 24/7 Motoring.com

And two Dyno runs from a local dyno tuning place. DynoXtreme.com

Anywho.. You all remember my buddy TerminalVelocity? Yeah, he won one of the free dyno runs. Which is awesome, cause it forces him to get his SR20 powered S13 back to running condition to use it.

So, I let him take the helm of the Z as we start off the cruise. First I had him set on stock boost (7psi). Just cruising along and what not. As we cruised and when he wasn't paying attention. I'd reach over to the Blitz Boost controller and turn the knob and up the boost.. first it was to 10psi... then a bit later... 12psi.

It was funny, cause he never knew I did it. So each time he got on the gas the car got faster. It was funny to see his confused reaction. Kinda a dirty trick but funny.

So, now we're on 12psi. My buddy Jason is driving his Uncles 1997 Mustang Cobra convertible. It's got a fully built motor, balanced & blue printed.. ported and possibly cams. I know it's got 3.73 gears and a posi. It's said to have about 370hp. Well, I don't think it's anything special. From a roll we sorta walked away...

I won't get into too much detail about that race. I think his Uncle want's to run my car with his Mustang. I'll do it... he likes to talk shit so why not have some fun with it? Hehe

Next up, we were playing with a buddy in a Volvo C70 coupe. Very nice car, very fast car for what it is. 230 furiously turbocharged five cylinders. hehe.. Of course we won. But it's all fun and nobody cares.

Later on still cruising south on Pacific Coast Highway... we meet up with a red Porsche Carrera. Newest body style. This car was weaving in and out of our group getting through the pack. It past us. And I said to Matt (TerminalVelocity) who is still driving:

Me: I think the Z want's to play with the Porsche.
Matt: Should I?
Me: Yeah, why not?

So we catch up and line up next to them, and he downshifts we look over and it's these two older ladies in their late 50s. The driver is wearing this Martha Stuwart style garden hat with flowers on the top and the other had fluffy white hair kinda like Bee Arthur from the Golden Girls.

We both look at ourselves going:

So, we've downshifted and she guns it and lets off. They're both laughing. Having a great old time. Matt waits for it, and they gun it again and stick to it. He floors it and we stroll past them.

We do this several times over the next few miles. We were ahead of them for quite sometime, and I was watching them in the rearview about 7-8 car lengths back. Then they shot down the street in the right lane (we're in the left) at well over 100mph and past us like we were standing still and weaved past a car in the right lane and put on the brakes as they came into our lane. This was a classic example of the little old lady from Pasadena.

These two were awesome, we pulled next to them and I gave them a big thumbs up and was applauding them for being so frikkin cool.

I want her as my grandma...

Fastforward.

Now I'm driving my car... Yay!

We're now heading back towards the resturant at 11pm so we can go to the Starbucks for coffee. It was friggin cold outside.

My buddy in his Nissan Titan, which for a truck. Is pretty damn fast. He's been wanting me to show him what my car has got for a while now. As in he'll pull up next to me and gun it, taunting me with name calling and such. He's a halarious guy.

So tonight he had our friend riding with him with a camera. So sitting at the lights he's eyeing me to go. With the new clutch I wasn't about to launch, so I was only going to go once I got rolling.

For about three or four lights in a row, we did this. By 2nd gear or 40mph I passed him. And I'd let off. Apparently my car shoots "Refinery style Flames" when I let off and downshift to slowdown.

Three people saw this 2ft long blue/orange flame shoot out my car, and said it stayed outside my car for at least 2-3 long seconds.

Then some lady in a Kia shoot up past us. We ended up next to her at the next light. She looks like she's gonna go for it cause of her driving behavior. The light goes green, my buddy Joe in his Titan shoots off like we had been doing, and I come off the line slow then smash the gas we left the Kia way back there.

But when I let off, and slowed down she comes to pass me and gives me a nice thumbs up. That was awesome hahah...

The night wasn't race filled like I probably have told in the past. But it was fun none-the-less. Everybody made it home safe, and nobody got a ticket. So it was a good night.

Next month should be fun, TerminalVelocity should be bringing down his S13. And there might be some good races that night.

Hey Mr. RedNeck383, us older folks like to have fun too. Some of the top Pro drivers in Drag, circle and desert racing are over 50. So be careful when picking on us older folks.
What part of Pacific coast Hwy you cruse on? I use to live at Dana Point.

Sounds like my kinda fun you guys had.

Re: A few minor encounters...

We cruised from Huntington Beach down PCH through Newport, then Corona Del Mar and finally into Leguna and made the turn onto 133 and conected with the 405fwy.

We've gone to Dana Point before, I work there often so I took the group to the marina and we hung out near the pier.

Re: A few minor encounters...

I think everyone on the SR forums should chip in like $3 and with all the money we buy an in car camera kit for his Z. Think of the enjoyment it would bring us all.

drivin the z was badass, course this bastard plotted me getting off my ass and fixin my car....

He had me get gas, and when I got back he hoped into the passenger side and was all "Drive bitch!" leaving me all WTF? but I didnt argue lol, its been a while without boost

the z's stearing is much easier than my S13, and it grips alot better. I have 440 gears which dosent help me alot....but even still his z dosent just shred going into 2nd and break loose into 3rd. Very nice car

and yes....it was the night of the mid age women!

I cant wait untill I try my S13 agaisnt the panda! I doubt i'll win but i'll give him a run for his money. And if we do a canyon run it will be intresting.

Down for the first canyon you took me to red?
