paint job cost, cigarette lighter prob, and antenna question
how much do you think a new paint job would cost? i cant find anywhere to get an estimate without havin to drive out somewhere.
I got no power goin to my cigarette lighter, any idea what the problem would be an how to fix it? How do you get to the antenna motor? Its been broken since july and the noise of the motor tryin to push it up or pull it back down sounds horrible.

Re: paint job cost, cigarette lighter prob, and antenna question
i great paint job with different color at a body shop would run about $3500 for outside, door jams, trunk and hood jams. Would be cheaper if you wanted your same color painted, depending on if your pearl in your paint is still good.

Re: paint job cost, cigarette lighter prob, and antenna question
The cigarette lighter wasn't working on my Lude when I bought it - since I don't smoke in the car it wasn't a problem. I found the problem by chance when I put my new head unit in - the cable to the cigarette lighter was unplugged behind the center console. Plugged it in and it worked fine.
The antenna motor is in the trunk, right behind the jack. The access area is tiny, you'll need a socket wrench with universal adapters and extensions to loosen the damn thing. |

My brother took his car for an estimate (no body work) and they told him that for around $500 he could get the level 1 paint (1 year warrantee), and for around $1200 he could get a level 2 paint job (a few years more on the warrantee). They also had a high-end package that included better paint and clearcoat that ran under $2000. The cost of paint jobs vary depending on the quality of paint they use and the quality of work you expect them to perform (removing trim instead of just masking it off, stuff like that). P.S. My brother got the cheapest paint job they offered since it was his daily driver - the paint started fading and chipping after just a few months. |
