95 Grand Am Overheating
I have a 95 Grand Am that is overheating. It will get hot super fast at an idle, and will only cool down when accelerating . We have changed the water pump, thermostat, flushed and changed the tank to the radiator (it had a small crack), also chagned the fan, and the temp sensor. Anybody have any ideas on what else it could be?

Re: Re: 95 Grand Am Overheating
Try the thermostatic switch. It controls when the cooling fan kicks on. If you replaced everything else, i would check that. Also most GM cars radiator fans will kick on when the A/c is on. Try turning on your A/C and see if your fans work. Good luck.

Re: 95 Grand Am Overheating
hey man i've got a 95 Grand am with "genious" Quad 4 in it, it did the same thing when i juss got it. the reason y it overheats cuz it's gms fault, they made crapy water pumps, u can change 10 of em, won't change a thing, the thign that helped me was to flush radiator, since then i didn't have any problems, unless i let car idle for a long time, then u juss need to drive and will cool down. good luck my friend.
