Haynes repair manual for the civic say's quote "Do not attempt to troubleshoot or service the SRS system yourself. Even a samll mistake could cause the SRS system to malfunction when you need it"

If your airbags deployed or they dont work, take the car to a authorized honda repair center to get it looked at.

This is my daughters car, and she rear ended another car which deployed both airbags. I replaced the front end, fenders, hood, grill, etc leaving only the airbags. I pulled them out and thought I could replace them, they came out fairly easy. The only things I heard about repalcing them was disconnect the power source, and that they must both come from the same vehicle if buying used. If not, you would have to take it to a dealer to have them re-coded/programed. I don't know how much of that is true so that's why I posted the message on the site. I'm just trying to save money and get her car on the road. Thanks for everyone's imput.
