What is the difference in these cars. How does the svt have more power than the zx3. are the engines the same in the cars. will parts meant for a zx3 fit or work on an svt

Re: ZX3 vs. SVT

SVT has a 170hp Zetec motor, while the ZX3's Zetec has 130hp. Most of the differences in the motors are internal, though the SVT has a different intake setup. The SVT handles better, though a stock ZX3 handles pretty damn well stock. The SVT is around 1" lower, with different spring rates, etc. The rest of the differences are mainly cosmetic; SVT front and rear bumper, as well as side skirts, and a Euro spec interior with some nicer seats. The SVT also comes with a six speed, where the ZX3 can only get a 5 speed or an auto. Some parts will work on the SVT that will work on the ZX3, but many will not. It's definetly easier to find parts for and upgrade a ZX3, but I have seen some very fast SVT's with turbo's etc. I know that Jackson makes a supercharger kit as well, but I'm pretty sure that it will only work on the ZX3 as the SVT has a different intake setup.

Re: ZX3 vs. SVT

ok, the SVT doesn't come stock with a supercharger (ford should have made it come stock with a turbo charger and all wheel drive though) and you could convert a ZX3 to an SVT with what is offered through ford's parts catalog.

Re: ZX3 vs. SVT

oh yeah, the SVT may be getting 170hp to the flywheel, but not to the tires. It gets around 140 to 145 to the tires.

Re: ZX3 vs. SVT

Still you OWN the car, the fact that you STILL thought a SC was stock shows that your are absolutley stupid about what you own and how it works. That mixed with the fact your to dumb to research a car before you buy it shows that your one of those peole that should drive a Yugo, cuz either way you know NOTHING about the car except that the emblem says.

Hell even my mom did a lot of research on her car b4 she bought it, and shes in no way a car person.

Re: ZX3 vs. SVT

How did ZX2 make a fool of himself? Seriously though, why would you buy a car without researching anything at all?
