now i don't quite get it

so i keep watching this video of the supra and the evo and i can't help but notice that both cars cranked the rpms before dumping the cluch. now im i just confused or are you not at all supposed to rev and drop an all weel drive car unless your like runnin from the cops? i know that with my ceramic cluch in my 3000, (although i have only done this a rare few times) i can do a rather wicked all weel burnout like a bat out of hell. i allways thought that that was a bad thing though. and if it is then i wana know why the hell they are putting that poor evo through that kind of torcher. also what part of the car is it bad for?
