Seriouse Problem

Well tonights been a bad night, First I lock my keys in my car with the engine running so my dad comes to try and Jimmy the door. He normaly can do it really fast but couldn't on my 94 sunbird. So he tried to pick the door lock with his Mutli tool that had a thin peice of metal on it. Well now it seems since he did that I can't bloody well use my key to even unlock the door from the side he did that. All that happens is the Lock just turns back and forward. Everyone once and a while it will grab but than not turn at all than it sounds like it is breaking free and starts to just spin back and forward again.

It does not go all the way around just from Horizontal to Horizontal. Is it possibly that maybe a pin got stuck down if he tried to push down on the teeth and it is not all the way down yet far enough down to cause me trouble. Or could it maybe be possible he broke off an Arm inside the door.

Any ideas would be helpful seen as this is a major incovnience you know... not being able to get into my car and all from the drivers side.

Thanks

94 Sunbird LE

Re: Seriouse Problem

He did what everyone that has done while trying to use a jimmy tool. He knocked the lock rods off the cylinder. What has to be done is remove the door panel and reistall the rod. I know it sounds easy but you better have someone who knows how to do it. It can drive even the experienced mechanics crazy.
