Re: brakes

ya they make some quality products-finest calipers in the world... Their Systems are not just a kit they include everything you will need. If your application requires a master cylinder, hose, or special fitting it’s included. Systems requiring hubs not only arrive with the races and studs installed, but are also assembled with Timken bearings and packed with Redline Synthetic grease.

i have a 4 piston baer upgrade system on my twin turbo r/t an its not that the stock brakes sucked on it - they would acually work better than most cars i have seen - but after the new system i order an installed myself - i have noticed a dramatic lost of break dust and a amazing firm stop... its worth it -
classic - isnt goin wrong by tellin ya that when he hears upgrade go baer....

ya i hear ya - they broke my bank for the week - i never thought i was gonna pay thousands of dollars on a brake system but damn they are nice lol - on this description panphlet it tells ya what my series is good for -it says: Similar to PRO systems - PRO PLUS feature Alcon four-piston radial mount calipers built with pistons sized to allow the vehicle to maintain a traditional single - 2 port master and booster arrangements. Unless otherwise listed, most PRO systems do not feature a park mechanism. Some systems are built with a 13.25 x .810" directionally ventilated rotor - while most are built with an Alcon 13.5" (optionally 14" or 14.85") rotor. As with other Baer Brake System - the PLUS indicates a two piece rotor that results in a weight savings of up to 5lbs. With 17" wheels or larger are usually required to run a PRO PLUS system. An of course i got the slotted an x-drilled - i figure i could buy a car with the amount i spent on this braking system why not go all the way - but i guess all the way would be 6 piston lol i think 4 is enough i an not goin 250 mph lol only 190+

my r/t has 17s stock - with a 16" space saver spare - very cool spare tire ya ever see one of them? very rare in cars - mostly in posches an shit like that
did u get a catalog from them ? I think its like 5 or 7 dollars i dont remember- i got the phone number on this booklet if u want it....

Powerslot rotors and carbon metallic pads are a good choice and cheaper. I unfortunatley have 2 extra sets of powerslot rotors i have no use for.

For normal use the cheap pads and rotors are ok. I think the problem with the OEM rotors warping was the original pads are too hard. Once I installed the new ones the rotor warpage problem went away.

The rotors will fit 96-03 cavaliers. I am looking to make back at least what I paid for them...$130 a set. They weight about 25lbs a set so if you'd like a shipping quote pm me or email me your city/state/zip ([email protected]) and I'll get one for you.

Re: brakes

my car is also alot heavier mind you, so i need alot better quality than some cheap powerslot, its alot dif. when your gets you goin 130 in 3rd alone - i i had brembo on my 91 an they worked awsome but i figured why not buy the best for my next car- an i am very happy with my selection - we were talkin about to dif applications there - IF YOU READ UP WE WERE TALKIN ABOUT BAER BRAKES for a moment- after lone wolfs question was answered - not sayin that powerslot wouldnt be good for a cavy cause its a hell of alot lighter car than my r/t tt - but i just never wanted to have to deal with the warped rotors an shit - i had that on one of my cars an it was a pain in the ass the whole car would shake an it depleted the braking quality-

I've not had a problem with warping. As long as you have good quality pads and are not rough on your brakes you won't have a problem. Its the drilled rotors you should worry about. They are more frail than the powerslot rotors. My car isn't fast enough, nor ever will be fast enough to spend the money for better brakes. In my opinion powerslot on a 2.2L Cavy works best.

the brake shoes dont make ur rotors warp big guy - its when your rotors are either not proper from the factory or if they can't take the heat they warp.... so its just better to get better quality rotors an you wont have a problem. an its not the drilled rotors that you should worry about. the drilling doesnt make them weak or brittle - it acually makes them stronger- for example - u take a solid round 1" piece of steal pipe or w/e an u take a 1" round hollow piece of steal the solid will be easyier to bend because it is weaker - being hollow acually strengthens the walls an makes it harder to bend.... thats a true fact.
