d16a1 and zc

I have a d16a1 and I am going to buy a zc from 4g4dstore in a week or so. I have heard that the only difference between the zc and the d16a1 is the cams. Correct me if im wrong and add anything else that is differnet thanks.

a d16a1 is the motor out of an 89 integra USDM version

Re: d16a1 and zc

The main difference is that it WILL NOT work in a 4th gen.

Re: d16a1 and zc

The d16a1 is a USDM DOHC 87-89 integra.

It will work but the hassle is not worth the work. But it will fit a gen1 CRX or gen3 civic, dropin. I did it once, not much room for anything else.

As for you assumtion the DOHC ZC and DOHC d16a1 are the same except for the block mounts for the ZC will work easy for 4gen but the d16a1 are total wrong and will have to be custom made to work and there are some body mods too, like I said not worth the effort.

Are you sure its a d16a1, because it would require more work than its worth for a power gain of 9hp over stock (si, ex models) or 22hp over stock (for dx models) Id double check! But the rods and pistons are interchangable b/w zc and d16a1.

And the d16a1 came in USDM 86-89 Integras!
