CD Player Question

I have a 1998 Taurus SE, and I have the factory head unit that has the tape deck with built in CD changer controls. Here is my question. I have tried usuing those tape/cd adapters, that allow your portable to play over the tape deck, but they never work. it flips the adapter from side a, to side b, then ejects it. it has done this to two different ones. It is unable to use these, becase they are "unsupported"?? or is it possibly because the factory head unit has built in changer controls??

thanks for all the help.

Do regular tapes still play fine? It sounds to me as though there either may be a problem with the adaptor, or the tape deck itself. Factory changer controls won't affect anything relating to that.

Re: CD Player Question

Yes, regular tapes work fine. I use my MP3 player to copy from CD to normal tapes, but thats getting really really annoying. I tried 2 different adapters though....

Wierd... I was under the assumption that those things were universal, but maybe they aren't. You could always buy a factory changer from your friendly dealership for $500. Replacing the factory system is also possible, although the kit you need for that car is a little more pricey than your typical install parts.
