Red face My 93 ford probe won't start

As i try starting my car, it will turn all the
way with the starting sound but it won't start.
What you think wrong, consider that it has a tranny leak.
Engine was replaced at 10000 miles.

Re: My 93 ford probe won't start

now I dont own a second gen. but it sounds like a pretty common problem with most vehicles. the tranny is not the problem it would still start up if the tranny was completly shot.its most likley a fuel problem its kinda hard to pinpoint this particular problem. it could be a fuel pump, injectors, or just about anything else in the system. or it could be electrical, distributor, sensors, or anything else controlling the firing order. unfortunatly its also another thing thats hard to pinpoint.
if you do the work yourself chances are you will probably replace some stuff that wasn't the problem, this isnt a bad thing because replacing any old part will just keep it from becoming a problem down the road. the good news is that for the most part these parts are not the most expensive things to replace as far as under the hood goes. you could get a qualified mechanic which is what most people would do or you could get a friend who knows about cars to help you pinpoint the problem and have an Idea of what to do in this situation. but any qualified mechanic should be able to fix it in no time. it shouldn't cost to much because these systems are not as labor intensive as going into the engine. if you have not had experience working on cars and do not know the basics of your cars mechanics. I would strongly suggest taking it to a professional they have the tools to help them locate the problem.

And I would suggest getting that tranny leak fixed while your at it. a new gasket is way cheaper than a new tranny.

Thumbs up

Hey K-ball.
YOu were awesome.
Thanks for the tip.
I found my way around
the electrical stuff.
With your tip, i wonderfully
performed miracles.
I change the distributor
and it started.
However, the "Check fuel injection" light
is on. My buddy mistakenly broke
the "Fuel regulaor" while he was trying
his "I wonder if this is the problem" trick.
But you are great, for real.
