Question Need Help

ok i just bought this alt. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...937590485&rd=1
i put it in my 1990 ford mustang. on the back of the new alt. there is a plug for the stock plug, and there is also a white wire and a nut holding on two ringterminals that you can put two other wires. on my mustang there is the stock plug and a nother plug. the other plug has three wires and i dont know were it goes, it has a white wire and two black wires. Im i suppose to cut the second plug and and put the white wire from the plug to the new alt. and the two black wires to that other thing. when i just put the stock plug in and started my car it ran for like 2min then the alt. started to smoke a little. then i turn the car off. the car still starts after this. Can some one help me and tell me what i should do.

Re: Need Help

Check out this site. It should tell you everything you need to know about installing a 3G alt.
