I jsut found this forum, and did are search for starter replacement on an F350, and did not find any info. So thought I would ask and see if anyone has any tips before I start.
What is the best place to access the starter? How many bolts are there? Are there any tips that will make this less painless? I have changed many starters in my time, and always found it a pain in the butt to do regardless of the vehicle. Any web resources with pictures, I have not crawled under my truck yet to get a look, but will be tomorrow. Thanks, Tony |

Re: 03 Ford F350 Diesel Starter Replacement
Tony,
The 7.3L starters are among the easiest to change. They are on the passenger side. Disconnect the batteries (BOTH) before attempting. My suggestion, although it is far from the cheapest solution, is to get a FACTORY Ford re-man starter. Most of the others are pure junk (I've re-replaced enough of them to know). |

Being an '03 F350... should this not still be covered under you new vehicle warranty? Or is your mileage too high?
Just a thought... shouldn't cose you anything to have it fixed...
