Angry 93 camry radio install problem with antenna

I just installed a sony explode cd player in my car and i got all the wires figured out but now my antenna doesnt go up or down. I used instructions i found from the car dr online to match up the wires but somehow something isnt right. if anyone has any idea on how to fix this ploease let me know.

Re: 93 camry radio install problem with antenna

You need to make sure that you have spliced your antenna's power line into the power line on the head unit. You also need to verify that your antenna is grounded in order for it to work properly.

Heres the problem with that now... I think it may still be hooked up wrong because the antenna goes up and down when i start or shut off the car. i thought it was gonna go up and down with the radio. I cant take the car to the carwash cause they have to manually push the antenna down and i dont want to get it messed up.
Question: Did I hook it up wrong again? or is that how its supposed to be? I hope its wriong cause i would like to be able to go trhough the car wash without having my antenna ripped off.
I would love any help anyone can give me...
