91 ultra transmission mounts keep breaking

Ive got a 91 ultra where the motor (transmission) mounts keep breaking. I recently got both driver side mounts replaced, and the big one on the passenger side looks OK.

At first, for the front drivers side mount, I drilled a hole through it and put in a 1/4"-5/16" (dont remember the size exactly) grade 8 bolt, lock washer and nut to hold the mount together. Even the grade 8 bolt wasnt strong enough, and snapped at the base of the threads. The mounts are just 2 pieces of metal with a piece of rubber in the middle attached using cheap adhesive.

I got tired of the bolts breaking so I decide to get a new one put in. The new mount looked a little beefier than the original mount with about twice as much rubber between the plates. With all of that, the damn thing still broke. So now I have to drive around with a very soft foot to avoid "bumping" it too much. This is hard to do in city traffic.

Are there any better solutions? Does somebody make aftermarket mounts worth a damn?

You shouldn't have mounts breaking.. If they do then there cheap.. Get a good GM mount and you'll be all set.
